POADA Celebrates First Anniversary
The Pre-Owned Automobile Dealers Alliance recently celebrated its first full year of existence, and signs are positive that the organization will continue to grow and continue to help dealers sell more and profit more in the pre-owned automobile industry.
POADA went into its second year with more than 600 dealer members, with membership expected to be boosted significantly by the alliance’s presence at the NADA convention in San Francisco this month. POADA has dealers in every state, as well as from several Canadian provinces. Currently, 60 percent of POADA members are franchise dealers and 40 percent are independent or former franchise dealers.
“Every day, more dealers across the country are recognizing the value of a free POADA membership,” said Bill Zadeits, the alliance’s managing director.
“Whether dealers join to gain access to the exclusive CarMark Certified Pre-Owned Program or to take advantage of the numerous discounts and incentives offered by our Partners, dealers know that a free POADA membership delivers on its promise to help them sell more and profit more in the pre-owned marketplace.”
POADA was formed in late 2009, and dealer membership in POADA is open at no cost to all dealers — franchise, former franchise and independent — where retail inventory and sales fall primarily within the pre-owned market segment (five years and newer).
Joining POADA is easy as filling out a form on the Alliance’s Web site (www.poada.biz/user/register). Zadeits noted that there is no limit to the number of memberships per dealership, as many dealers have noted that having several in the dealership receive critical information is more beneficial than having the information sent to just one source. Typical memberships include the dealer, the general manager, the used-car manager, the finance manager, the Internet manager and oftentimes individual salespeople.
